WHAT is FKD?

Fight-Knight Duels (FKD) is a collaboration of HEMA style combat, publicly displayed for audience entertainment, organized by Sword Circle, with assistance from the Piedmont Historical Fencing League (PHFL). The collaboration is to involve as many like-minded HEMA/ HEMA-adjacent clubs that seek to persevere in historical combat in a controlled and professional manner. FKD is NOT a sport setting; this is intended for controlled and disciplined martial artists that are not seeking to play ‘tag’ for the sake of points. 

WHAT is the tournament?

• Year long Ladder match. Each FKD will consist of up to 16 fighters (more in the future) who will be paired with a fighter that challenges another within their ladder-challenge (for first timers, the ladder will be ‘tier ranks’ from A, B and C, so each tier will fight each tier).
